Forever Known

Our story

Forever Known is a place to tell the story of a life, in your own words, your own voice, and your own face, and to keep it safe for the people who love you, long after today.

We all carry people inside us. The way they laughed. The stories they told around the table. The advice that still steadies us on the hard days. And yet, within a generation or two, so much of it quietly slips away. A voice fades from memory. Stories go untold. Someone we could not imagine living without becomes a name, a photograph, and a few half-remembered lines. That is the loss this was built to prevent.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”Thomas Campbell

Why we built this

This began with grief.

When I lost my father-in-law, Jim Derigiotis, Jimbo to those who loved him, I felt something underneath the sorrow of losing him: the fear of losing him, the details, the voice, the stories that only he could tell. No one had thought to ask him those questions while there was still time, and once he was gone, the door to his memories closed in a way that nothing could reopen. It felt deeply wrong that something so precious could simply fade, and that a family could be left wishing they had recorded just one more conversation.

Over the years, I have lost so many of the people who made me who I am. My grandad, Max Agan. My aunt, Tammy Landmon. My grandpa and grammy, Bill and Betty Sollicito. My stepfather, Bill Wyman. My stepmom, Sherry Agan. And just this week, my dear friend Charlotte. Too many more to name here, though I carry every one of them. I would give anything to sit with each of them one more time and hear them answer the questions I never got to ask, to hear my grandad tell a story in his own voice, to hear Aunt T laugh again. I cannot go back for them. But I can build something so that other families never have to carry that same regret.

That is what Forever Known is. It is the thing I wish I had had, in time. A patient, unhurried place to capture a life while it is still here to be captured, so that love and memory and a voice can be held onto and passed down, and so the people who shaped us are never truly lost.

What we believe

Every life is worth remembering. Not only the famous or the extraordinary, but the grandmother with her recipes, the father with his quiet wisdom, the friend who always knew what to say. Everyone deserves to be found, to be heard, and to be treasured. Everyone deserves to be forever known.

What you can do

Answer warm, guided questions one at a time, by writing, by recording your voice, or by filming a short video. Ask your own questions. Add photos, videos, and the family recipes that taste like home. A kind guide walks beside you, so there is never a blank page, and it can gather everything into a written life story to keep and to share.

How to use it

1. Tap Begin your story.
2. Enter your email; we send a 6-digit code to make sure it is really you.
3. Choose whether the story is about you, or about someone you love.
4. Answer the questions any way you like, or add your own memories, photos, and recipes.
5. Come back anytime. Your story is always saved and waiting.
6. When you are ready, create the life story and share the private page with your family.

Our promise

These memories are yours, and they are held with care. This was never really about technology. It is about love, and remembrance, and making sure that the people who mattered are never forgotten.
